20Kv07 Bridge Home

Greensboro AL / 2008 / 5th Year & Outreach

In 2008, the Studio designed and built four houses. Each house studied a different structural system as well as expanding the palette of exterior cladding. The Bridge House furthers the structural truss wall system first employed in 20Kv03 32K Truss House by using metal studs instead of wood to decrease the weight of the truss. On the interior, a 2’ deep storage wall separates the social and private spaces of the home. A small front porch provides a social gathering space, while a larger back porch off of the bedroom provides a more private space for the homeowner. The exterior is clad in sheet metal, while the roof cladding is painted corrugated metal.
